IRESEG Institute for International Relations, Economics and Security Governance

IRESEG is the Institute for International Relations, Economics and Security Governance, which is affiliated with the IFAREM Gesellschaft für Angewandte Forschung (IFAREM Gesellschaft). IRESEG is part of IFAREM Sciences, the research arm of IFAREM Gesellschaft.

An independently operating, transdisciplinary research institution, IRESEG operates at the intersection of political science, institutional economics, and international law.

IRESEG conducts theory-driven, application-oriented and forward-looking research to generate knowledge and explanatory models that can inform the resolution of current challenges. Particular attention is given to African knowledge systems and perspectives, as well as to the pragmatic application of system-critical approaches. Our main research areas are:

• Global governance and international and regional institutions;
• International cooperation and trade policy (global economy vs. micro- and macro-levels);
• International security policy, focusing on West Africa;
• Human security and international cooperation;
• Security governance.
